likable, relatable characters and realistic relationship build-up.I can’t say much more about the plot without spoiling it, so here are some other noteworthy and/or praiseworthy points:

It comes complete with one or two classic chest-clutching moments expected of Japanese dramas, and imo brings out the potential of the “psychic powers” plot device beautifully within what initially seems like a typical BL plot (kudos to Sunahara Touko, author of the novels the series is based on for doing it so well!). What unfolds from there is a sweet, moving story of two adult men bumbling through their new relationship and trying to navigate their sexuality and insecurities. When he takes up a simpler job as a sales employee in an electrical appliance store, he meets Hasebe Shuuichi (Ono D), an earnest man of few words from a different department, whom Yomura initially takes little notice of - until the day he is presented with a glimpse into Hasebe’s thoughts and thus the knowledge that Hasebe has developed feelings for him. Unable to cope with his newfound psychic powers at first, his seemingly perfect life begins to fall apart: he breaks up with his fiancee, resigns from his prestigious company, and shuts himself away for a period of time. Kamiya plays Yomura Kazuaki, a young man who gains the ability to hear the thoughts of people around him the day after he proposes to his girlfriend. It has one long, main story that’s been translated, and this is followed by a few omakes and sequels of varying length. Not only does it star one of general fandom’s favorite seiyuu pairs (Ono Daisuke and Kamiya Hiroshi) - the actors perform their roles with plenty of emotion and sensitivity, and while the plot isn’t overly complicated, its execution is well thought through and very much sincere. I won’t pretend to be some BLCD expert since my experience has been largely limited to some… Mostly questionable and/or cringey tracks that YouTube started suggesting to me about a month ago – but seriously, everyone who’s able to enjoy audio dramas needs to check out the series Kotonoha no Hana. But this feeling was only possible because I knew he was in love with me. Hasebe: (Yomura-san… Making a face like that…) My shirt works up with every time movement I make. I can hear wet sounds coming from the lower body half of my body. This is… Hasebe-kun! Please, turn off the lights– Hasebe: (They‘re small but they‘re his nipples indeed.) (I want to touch you) Yomura-san … can‘t I? Hasebe: (I want to touch it, Yomura-san‘s body…) Yomura-san. The more I tried to know his real feelings, the more I realize how honest he is, and the more attracted to him I become. I won‘t lie to you anymore … so may I … ? Hasebe: I knew it, you aren‘t surprised at all … I wonder why you seem to know everything … I want to kiss you.

I wanted to share some cute parts since I couldn’t find a full translation of the free-talk, so I’ve translated these clips to the best of my ability (based on my limited Japanese & with the aid of Chinese subs here). There’s plenty of flirting, and OnoD almost sounds genuinely flustered a few times and it’s just adorable. OnoD leads this 23-minute free-talk, and the energy is just completely different from DGS, in order to match the drama CD itself-it’s soft, and the background music is very cooperative. That’s how I discovered the Kotonoha no Hana bonus free-talk CD, which is an absolute joy.Ī brief explanation for newer fans like myself: Kotonoha no Hana was the first BL drama CD that Ono Daisuke & Kamiya Hiroshi starred in together, and it was recorded back in 2007, the first year of their radio show DGS. Sadly couldn’t find much in English, so I’m doing all the digging in Chinese. I’m really late to the OnKm fandom, but I’m having so much fun digging up old content.
